How often will I need to Refresh my balayage?
I recommend twice per year for balayage refresh. Maintenance appointments can be scheduled seasonally - explore EARTH package when booking.
How often should I clarify/purify my hair?
Monthly!
How often should I be using Olaplex 3?
Weekly!
Home maintenance to keep my balayage looking healthy?
I recommend the entire Olaplex system. Great place to start is the Olaplex No. 3. Also a Purple or blue conditioner. I prefer a conditioner as I find them less drying on the hair. Detox or purify shampoo once per month to get rid of any product buildup.
How often will I need to refresh my STAR (full on scalp blonde application)?
Every 5-7 weeks no exceptions to avoid banding. If the regrowth is longer it might require two sessions depending on hair type.
How often should I refresh my solid colour touch up?
Depending on the % of grey I recommend between 4-6 weeks.
How often should I refresh my gloss?
Typically every 4-6 weeks is ideal. Most including myself will refresh seasonally using my EARTH package.
What kind of shampoo should I be using at home?
I can only guarantee your colour if you use professional products. I recommend Olaplex and Kevin Murphy. If pharmacy products or non professional products are used after a colour I can not guarantee the longevity of the colour.
What kind of hot tools/ curling iron do you use?
I use all T3 hot tools. Absolutely love the curling iron 1.25
How important is thermal protector?
Extremely important if you want to maintain the integrity of your hair. Think about it as a security blanket. Use it EVERY SINGLE TIME you use heat.
What is the average cost of a Full Balayage Session or Full Head of Highlights?
The average 350/400 plus tax depending on hair density and amount of product used. We also use a scale in the salon to weight additional product used which will be added to the final invoice if applicable.
What is a salon scale?
A scale used to weigh all products used during the appointment. Automatically calculate and add the extra products to the service cost. Account for every gram used.
How are you different from other Balayage Specialists?
I am one of the very few salons in Ottawa who offers a One on One approach. I work in my salon solo and I strictly only book 1 client at a time. That way I can tend to your every need. I strive for excellent customer service but also deliver a nice relaxing atmosphere. I also offer bundled packages, whereas more salons offer a la carte services.
What's the vibe in your salon?
My salon is a HAIR HOME! It’s down to earth, as if you’re coming to your friends place and connecting on a deeper level.
